This is how I mottle the paint on my silicone doll.
Items used
*Silicone: Platsil Platinum silicone 00-00 Part A and B
*Paint: Silpig silicone pigments
*Paint Colour: Red Oxide (I use different colours such as reds, blues and purples for other layers - this is just 1 layer of paint)
*odourless thinners for oil based paints
*Toothpick for stirring
*plastic (NOT GLASS) paint tray
- If you haven't seen my other video - I've already finished Hannah's face and matted it down
- As I paint I try to NOT touch any area I'm painting because It can transfer lint that will cure into the wet silicone. Therefore I only touch areas that are completed, sealed and matted, or the cup. This is the first doll I've painted on a spinner. It's well worth the investment!
- Lazy susan - I purchased that from Kmart (an AUS store)
- All silicone supplies are from:
- Hannah has a ball jointed head, thus I have it resting over a ceramic cup
