The relentless Dixie Fire destroyed numerous homes near Taylorsville after the fire changed direction and came back down a mountain to destroy homes that looked like they were going to be spared after two weeks of being threatened by the fire. It's difficult to say just how many homes were destroyed in the dark with heavy smoke and persistent fire but it appears to be quite a few.
