Supermodel, actor and now author Emily Ratajkowski knows that everyone who picks up a copy of her book will have preconceptions about who she is. With My Body, she hopes to “shatter them”. The collection of essays is EmRata’s attempt to explore whether a woman’s decision to capitalise on her own image really amounts to being in control. In this episode of 'In Conversation', she tells Vogue’s Liana Satenstein, the considerable platform she now enjoys is a direct result of her modelling career. “And more specifically in my case, really sexualising myself and letting others sexualise me,” she adds. “For a very long time I felt like being a hustler and knowing how to work the system as a woman was feminism, and that it was my choice, and it’s just more complicated than that.” Watch the video to hear their conversation in full.
