'We are an endangered species,' says Japanese demography expert Kanako Amano. According to opinion polls, half of unmarried Japanese under the age of 30 don't want children. Less than 800,000 babies were born in the country last year. This is the lowest figure in almost 125 years. Meanwhile, the Japanese are increasingly replacing real partners dolls.
