Hiking 60 Miles Alone in Hornstrandir Iceland

Behind the scenes - I didn’t know Hornstrandir existed until a week before I arrived upon its shores. You’ll feel incredibly isolated on this hike because the landscape is devoid of trees and people. The windy peninsula jutting over the top of the West Fjords is home to beautiful cliffs, lush green valleys and arctic foxes. The extremely dramatic and photogenic Horn at the end of the trail is the climax of the hike. The giant green slopes are home to thousands of sea birds nesti
