One of our favorite Hung Gar forms. This is acknowledged as a crucial set in the Hung system. It is an intriguing combination of dynamic tension, Hung special strikes, Qigong and great stance work. Iron Wire doesn’t cover much acreage but it more than makes up for that with a sophisticated series of movements sometimes single handed, sometimes double combining Bridge Hand, Fist and Snake hand actions. Iron wire is obviously an internal set and shows off an attribute of Southern style that, while not exclusive, is more promouncd than in many Northern styles, namely the simultaneous practice of strong moves and Nei Gong. Without a doubt Hung Gar is one of the most popular and well loved systems of Kung Fu outside of China. Rather underrepresented in the mainland it is nonetheless and well known system from Singapore to San Francisco. An elegant and powerful Southern Fist it is famous for the Tiger/Crane set, its dynamic tension, low horse and "Bridge Hand" gesture. Read more about this great style.
