Dungeons - A Castle's Most Brutal Punishment? - History - Medieval

A Dungeon as we know it is a room in a castle linked with torture and the suffering or punishment of a prisoner who finds themselves in one. However what is the history behind these infamous structures found within a castle's walls? Today we visit the story behind them. We look back into Medieval history and look at some famous examples such as The Tower of London, and some famous cases of prisoners housed in a dungeon.
