There were many times I wanted to throw this piece out the window. Maybe the state of the world was getting to me and bleeding into my work, but I was frustrated through most of the process and it felt like nothing was working the way I wanted it to. I had to set it down for a few days and come back to it with fresh eyes. Eventually it came to a point where I wasn't mad at it anymore, if anything I was more emotionally connected to it than other pieces I've made because I worked through so many emotions in the midst of it. It's important to remember that we're all going through a collective trauma, and all of us have different experiences and ways of coping. Just because we may have free time at home doesn't mean we should be expected to come out of it with new or improved skills or be extremely productive. Some are just trying to get through the day. Stay safe out there!
