Hot, dry weather combined with windy conditions created extreme fire behavior as patches of trees were torched and crowning taking place at Butt Valley Reservoir where the fire threatens high tension power lines and hydroelectric generation that provides over 765 Mega Watts to Northern California. Extremely smoky conditions left the skies red, yellow or orange for most of the afternoon. The fire spotted over Butt Valley Reservoir and fire crews were filling trucks with water from the reservoir to put out the spots. The fire is working it's way around the reservoir and will likely make a push towards towns tomorrow where thousands more people have been put under evacuation warning.
