While checking up on WNBA player Brittney Griner, a human rights activist was shocked to find another American jailed in Russia. 46-year-old Sarah Krivanek, an American schoolteacher, was arrested on Nov. 11, 2021, after a domestic dispute with her Russian partner, Mikhail Karavaev.
