It consists of nose septum, cartilage and bone, and both sides are covered with mucopericondrium - cartilage gland, mucoperiosteum and it vertically dividing the nasal cavity along the length to two cavities.
Nasal septum perforation / perforation of the nasal cartilage is referred to as "nasal septum perforation / perforated nasal septum", which is the part of the nasal septum that divides the nasal cavity into two.
Nasal Septum Perforation Classification
Nasal septum perforations are classified into 3 categories according to their size:
Small holes - Diameter less than or equal to 0.5 cm
Middle holes - Diameter between 0.5 and 2 cm
Large holes - perforations larger than 2 cm in diameter
The location and size of perforation affects the indication that may occur in the patient.
