Eliyanna Andam - Hero schoolgirl stabbed to death on Croydon bus protecting friend

The first picture of a heroic schoolgirl who was stabbed to death on a bus in Croydon has been released by her family. Eliyanna Andam, 15, was knifed in the neck as she tried to defend her friend who was involved in a dispute with her ex-boyfriend on Wednesday morning. Eliyanna, who was a pupil at the prestigious Old Palace of John Whitgift School, was described as “comedic”, “jovial” and “much-loved” by her friends and relatives. She had a “bright future ahead of her” and was in her GCSE year. The tragic incident happened around 8.30am on a bus near the Whitgift Shopping Centre. According to witnesses, Eliyanna’s friend had received flowers and a love note from her ex-boyfriend, who had boarded the bus with them. The former couple got into an argument, and Eliyanna intervened to protect her friend. The ex-boyfriend then allegedly stabbed Eliyanna in the neck and fled the scene.
