Multiple studies have shown that they might be a bit smarter on the whole and even play baseball better. Yet scientists claimed that people who are more active at night face greater health risks. People with a late chronotype were more likely to have depression and anxiety, compared to people with an early chronotype. Insufficient sleep, unhealthy eating, or lack of exercise may contribute to night owls’ higher likelihood of hypertension. Stress—both physiological and psychological—may play a big role, as well.
