The Seven Ravens / Die sieben Raben (1937)

The first animated feature film adaptation of any of Grimms' fairy tales, predating Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by just three weeks, the first and only surviving feature film created by the Diehl brothers boasts some of the most meticulous stop-motion animation the medium had to offer early in the 20th century, including camera and composition techniques years ahead of their time, and yet has unfairly fallen under public consciousness ever since.
