THAT’S ALL I ASK OF YOU, The Angels, (Caprice #112) 1962 Flipside: CRY BABY CRY – Here is another really great ballad from my music collection. The Angels (The Jersey Girls) formed in 1961 and hailed from Orange, New Jersey. They were sisters Barbara and Phyllis ("Jiggs") Allbut and Linda Jansen. “CRY BABY CRY” flipside of “THAT’S ALL I ASK OF YOU” is my favorite song by The Angels. Linda Jansen sang lead on both sides and on “TIL” (Caprice #107) 1961. In 1962 Linda Jansen left for a solo career. Peggy Santiglia joined the group as their new lead singer. That gave them a little different sound. The Angels had 6 songs charted nationally on Billboard. Their biggest, “MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK”, charted in September 1963 for 14 weeks and reached #1. It stayed #1 for 3 weeks! It was a monster hit for them. Peggy Santiglia Davison also co-wrote the Four Seasons' hit “BEGGIN”. In 1963 I was 19 years old and was already well known for my record collection. Jerry Davi
