Nika, with codename ‘37’, calls her howitzers ‘girls’ and her subordinates ‘children’. A whole artillery platoon is under the control of this woman. For these strong, courageous guys, she is the commander. It was Nika’s own decision to go to the frontline. First, she volunteered, then joined the company as a medic, then as commander of a roadblock, and, finally, as a rifle platoon leader. The woman says it was her only option.
