Unicorns stars Ben Hardy and Jason Patel, and filmmakers Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd visit Collider’s TIFF media studio at the Cinema Center at MARBL for an interview with Perri Nemiroff. Hardy and Patel lead the film as Luke and Aysha, two people who seem to be worlds apart. Luke is a hard-working mechanic and a single father with a habit of indulging in meaningless hookups. Meanwhile, Aysha, the ‘realism’ drag persona of Ashiq, is an electric force in London’s underground “gaysian” scene. When Luke stumbles into one of Aysha's clubs, there's an immediate spark, but when he finds out Aysha is not a cisgender woman, he takes off. Luke's shocked when Aysha shows up at his garage to offer him a job. She wants him to drive her to her night-time performances and, in turn, he can save up to take his son to Disney World. Luke accepts and the more time the two spend together, the more their labels fade and their chemistry grows. Hear all about the making of the movie in
