LE PARC is about the phases of a gallant seduction. The choreography by Angelin Preljocaj shows the development of a couple's relationship from the first approach to devotion. Inspired by French literature from the 17th and 18th century, the set design by Thierry Leproust refers to classicist elements of French parks, while costume designer Hervé Pierre dresses the ensemble in rococo fashion. In our Observations Hervé Pierre speaks about the fabrics and consequences of the costumes for the movements. Principal dancer Madison Young talks about the emancipatory aspects of her role and ballet director Laurent Hilaire about the universality of the piece.
