Erol, Ahmed and Leyla live with their Turkish father and German mother in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Erol, a petty criminal, will save the family honor by completing his military service in Turkey. However, he must first confront his loan shark. In an almost documentary style, the film follows three Turkish-born siblings living in Kreuzberg in the 1990s. The two brothers, Erol and Ahmed (played by rapper Kool Savas), represent different ways of life: one stands for social integration, and the other stands for its rejection. Meanwhile, their sister Leyla goes her own way.
