Beading Globally Necklace #1 - Double Layer Sterling LOTUS Necklace in Cubic Right Angle Weave

In this video, I show you how this Double Layer Sterling Silver Lotus Necklace I made years ago participates in beading ideas from America, Africa and China. for this necklace, I used 4mm sterling silver beads that I oxidized myself using boiling liver of sulphur. And a custom sterling magnetic clasp, cast to my specifications. American Design Inspiration, American Beading Technique --There's only 1 technique in this necklace: cubic right angle weave. Cubic right angle weave was first pioneered by American artist David Chatt, who's created amazing pieces with it. Here's a link to his website - prepare to be amazed. --Anyway, when I saw the "Dinka-Inspired Bracelet" that David made for my 2005 book, The Art of Beadwork: Historic Inspiration, Contemporary Design, I emailed David to ask if I could borrow a design concept I saw in the bracelet.
