Abah Adi uses a glass to amplify the sounds of his karinding rakit, a unique variety of Sundanese mouth harp made from the midrib of a palm frond. The construction and technique, including this unique method of hitting the karinding with the instrument's bamboo case, are unique to his village of Cirama Girang, Cianjur, West Java.
