A murdered police officer named Alex Murphy is brought back by OCP who runs and funds the police force as a crime fighting Robot, soon memories from his past life starts to emerge, one by one he starts to track down Clarence Boddicker and his gang, the men who killed him. A satirical black comedy about a futuristic USA, Paul Verhoven said he wanted for budget reason (It "only" cost 13 Millions to make )as well as making the film relatable to audience he set in 1987, in reality he wanted to set in 2020:s! Yeah! Compare this with his next film Total recall with Arnold which is indeed set in future and look which film won the box office race.
