Item title reads - "It comes from the hills, the vales and the mireland". Every officer and man of the Irish Guards in far off Constantinople received his sprig of Shamrock on St. Patrick's Day. (Istanbul), Turkey. L/S of the regiment lined up, the men and officers salute. The officers come up and salute again before taking a tray of shamrock. They walk along the lines and every man takes a sprig. M/S as pipers and drummers walk along in front of the regiment. The commanding officer salutes as they march past.
