1960 Tonka Tow Truck Restoration

I purchased this 1960 Tonka Tow Truck off eBay March 7, 2020. When i received the truck it was in pretty great shape for being 60 years old. The grille and bumper were both rusted badly, some of the paint was flaking off, it was missing a dumbell light had all polished parts were dull. I was extremely excited! This is my favorite of all the Tonka Toys that I have purchased thus far. During disassembly, I found that the white walls were extremely brittle, and I was unable to save them. After inspection of the disassembled unit, I determined that I would need to replace, the whitewalls, hub caps, boom spool lock nuts, boom crank lock nut, the missing dumbell, and the roof light. I saved and plated everything that I could. I actually will be replacing the grille in this truck (only because it is my favorite and I wanted a higher quality grille) however I will plate and save the grille to be used in another truck I have coming up.
